Fluctuating effectively from the comic to the deadly serious, Panic discusses urban middle class men and their anguish.
The play portrays three seemingly successful men who find themselves unable to cope with their circumstances in the urban jungle with its ridiculous emphasis on being cool and with the unnecessary pressure that people are under to succeed in their lives.
Leo, Max, and Joni struggle to find their way to overcome their problems concerning relationships, work, and friendship. They try to help each other by counseling with different methods – with varying success.
As new sides of each of them are revealed, their roles as “psychiatric” and “patient” reverse. Although a brilliant comedy, the play is also touching just because one by one, each of the characters becomes desperate in his inability to cope and to communicate with the others.
